2010 Elementary School Assembly Programs.

 For 25 years Tim and Laura have been educating elementary students with the gift of music, and literature. They have performed at hundreds of elementary schools throughout Florida.

 

Nothing in the curriculum is more important to a Child's Early Education than those experiences, which reinforce the learning of literacy.  Not just reading, but writing, thinking, talking, listening, and creating. All of these skills and concepts are crucial to the educational, psychological, and social well being of the young student.

 

Who are The Battersby Duo? Sponsored by Taylor guitars The Battersby Duo write music for Children and Families. They have appeared on Sesame Street and have been featured on The Today Show on NBC. They‘ve won an Emmy and several Parents Choice Awards, and have performed 6 times at The White House for The President and First Lady in addition to appearing at The Kennedy Center in DC, The Marcus Center in Milwaukee, and at the prestigious Spoleto Festival in Charleston S.C. The Battersby Duo has released more than a dozen albums and DVD's and are members of The Grammy Foundation and ASCAP.

 

Sunny Days is a 45 minute musical assembly program that promotes literacy, self-esteem and helps student confidence.

The Battersby Duo perform 2 separate shows at each school, dividing their audience into kindergarten, first and second grade children in one show, and third, fourth and fifth grade children in the second show. Each show is themed identically but is specifically age appropriate to each grade level attending.

There are 180 days in the School year. The Battersby Duo accepts requests from 150 Elementary Schools in Florida each season, typically performing 2 programs per school. They have been fingerprinted and accepted under The Jessica Lunsford Act in most Florida Counties. All fees are inclusive and no deposits are required. The Battersby Duo does not add travel or accommodation charges.
